How to get here from Bayswater

Directions to 99 Harley Street, like we’d say them on the phone

Bayswater rides rather than walks: the Central line does the work, and the last eleven minutes are a straight walk up from Oxford Circus.

From Queensway, the Central line runs four stops to Oxford Circus; exit north, up the quiet flank of Regent Street into Cavendish Square, and Harley Street carries you to the Weymouth Street corner, twenty-five minutes door to door, prams and all. From Bayswater station, the Circle line to Great Portland Street does the same job from the other side.

W2’s households mirror the clinic’s strengths: international families around Westbourne Grove booking pregnancy and children’s scans, long-stay visitors near the park wanting London-standard imaging without a hospital, and everyone else simply wanting the lump, the pain or the question answered this week.

For families the logistics matter more than the miles: children’s appointments run gentle and long with a consultant paediatric radiologist, prams roll in from the street, and Saturday morning scans pair neatly with the park on the way home.

01

By Central line: about 25 minutes door to door

Queensway to Oxford Circus (four stops), exit north, up through Cavendish Square and straight up Harley Street to number 99 at the Weymouth Street corner.

02

By Circle line: about 25 minutes door to door

Bayswater station to Great Portland Street (five stops), cross Marylebone Road, and walk down Harley Street, the pram-friendliest interchange-free option.

03

By taxi: about 12 minutes

Across the top of the park via Sussex Gardens and Marylebone Road; ask for 99 Harley Street at the Weymouth Street corner. Usually £14–£16; the clinic is inside the Congestion Charge zone.

04

On foot: about 50 minutes

For a fine morning: through Hyde Park’s Italian Gardens, out at Marble Arch, up through Portman and Manchester Squares to Weymouth Street. A genuinely lovely walk, but it is most of an hour, so ride unless the morning itself is the point.

Juggling a pram, a toddler and the Central line? Call 0203 904 4441, reception will pick the appointment time that makes the journey easy, not just possible.

Why Bayswater comes to us

London-standard scanning for a worldly neighbourhood

Bayswater is London’s most international square mile, and its patients want the same three things in any language: a specialist worth the journey, a result the same day, and a report that travels, to a paediatrician in Dubai, a GP in Paris, or simply the family folder.

Families first

Pregnancy scans through every stage and children’s ultrasound with a consultant paediatric radiologist, appointments built around nap schedules, not against them.

Reports that cross borders

Written consultant reports on your portal the same day, in clear English your doctor anywhere can act on, with imaging shareable on request.

One journey, one answer

Twenty-minute scans, findings explained in the room, and no “come back Thursday”, because half of W2 might be in another country on Thursday.

Who scans you

A team used to patients from everywhere

The specialists at 99 Harley Street hold NHS consultant posts at UCLH, King’s and the Royal Free, and spend their weeks with London’s most international patient population, including a consultant paediatric radiologist for the children. Hover over a name for background.

All doctors are GMC-registered and all sonographers HCPC-registered. Meet the whole team →

Questions, answered

Questions from Bayswater, answered

Anything else? Call 0203 904 4441, a real person answers, and a clinician can call you back.

How do I get there from Bayswater?

Easiest: Central line from Queensway four stops to Oxford Circus, then an eleven-minute walk up through Cavendish Square to 99 Harley Street at the Weymouth Street corner, about twenty-five minutes door to door. The Circle line from Bayswater station to Great Portland Street takes the same time with a shorter walk.

A taxi across the top of the park runs about twelve minutes; the full routes are above, next to the live map.

Is the journey manageable with a pram?

Yes: take the Circle line option: Bayswater station to Great Portland Street is step-free-friendly at the clinic end, and the seven-minute walk down Harley Street is flat. The clinic itself takes prams in its stride.

With two children or a sleeping baby, the twelve-minute taxi is the honest recommendation.

We’re an international family: how do reports work?

Your written consultant report is on your secure portal the same day, in clear English, structured so a paediatrician in Geneva or a GP in Riyadh can act on it directly. With your consent we also send it to any named doctor, anywhere.

Imaging itself can be shared too, useful when follow-up happens in another country.

Who scans children?

A consultant paediatric radiologist whose whole specialty is children’s imaging, hips, tummies, necks, lumps: in longer, gentler appointments where the child sets the pace.

Many Bayswater families book the children’s scan and a parent’s check back to back; reception arranges the sequencing.

Do I need a GP referral?

No: book directly, online or by phone, whether your GP is on Westbourne Grove or another continent. Where a scan clinically needs a conversation first, a clinician calls you as part of the booking.

For visitors and new arrivals without a London GP yet, this is usually the fastest legitimate route to answers.

Can I be seen the same day?

Often, yes: same-day and next-day slots run across most scan types on weekdays. From Bayswater that means a morning call and an early-afternoon scan, with the park on the way home as consolation for the errand.

Call 0203 904 4441; availability moves through each morning.

What are your opening hours?

Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm, Saturday 8am to 6pm. W2 favours the Saturday morning list, scan first, Italian Gardens after, and the 8am weekday slots before Queensway properly wakes up.

Evening appointments suit the households running on two working diaries.

Is there parking if we drive?

Pay-by-phone bays on Weymouth Street and the surrounding mews, with the Q-Park Harley Street car park a few minutes away, workable, though the clinic sits inside the weekday Congestion Charge zone.

From W2 the honest ranking: Tube first, taxi second, car a determined third.

Do you have a clinic in Bayswater or Notting Hill?

No: one clinic, at 99 Harley Street, deliberately: one address holds the consultants, the paediatric radiologist and the equipment together, which is what keeps every visit to the same standard.

Bayswater’s journey in is longer than Marylebone’s but simpler than most school runs. This page exists to show exactly how simple.

Can you see us during a London stay?

Yes: long-stay visitors around the park use us as their imaging clinic: no NHS registration needed, no referral, and everything completed within one visit, from scan to written report.

If follow-up will happen back home, we write the report with that hand-over explicitly in mind.

How quickly do results come?

The findings are explained in the room before you leave, and the written consultant report reaches your secure portal the same day.

Anything needing follow-up comes with a clear plan, including, where relevant, what to hand to a doctor abroad.

How much does a scan cost?

Fixed, published prices: from £160, most diagnostic ultrasounds £250–£350, children’s scans priced per study, always including the specialist’s time and the written report. No surprises, no day-of extras.

All major insurers are accepted, international policies included. Bring your authorisation number.

Can I walk in without an appointment?

We ask you to book first, even if that is a phone call from Bayswater ten minutes before you set off: it means a consultant and a room are ready for you rather than a wait. Same-day slots are released through the morning, so call 0203 904 4441, tell us what you need, and reception will usually find you a time that day.

Who performs the ultrasound?

A consultant radiologist, a doctor who specialises in imaging, or a senior specialist sonographer for pregnancy and gynaecological scans, never a trainee. The person holding the probe explains what they see as they scan, so you leave Bayswater-bound already knowing the findings, and the written report is theirs too.

Which scans can I book near Bayswater?

Every scan on this website is at 99 Harley Street, so from Bayswater you have one address for pregnancy scans, breast ultrasound and the breast clinic, pelvic and gynaecological scans, thyroid and neck scans, abdominal and kidney scans, joint and sports injury scans, ultrasound-guided injections, and children’s scans. Each has one page and one fixed price; use the search at the top of the page or call us.

How long is the wait for a private ultrasound compared with the NHS?

NHS waits for a routine ultrasound vary from a few weeks to several months depending on the hospital and the urgency your GP assigns. Here, same-day and next-day appointments are usually available, the findings are explained before you leave, and the report is on your portal the same day. From Bayswater that means a worry can be answered the day you decide to act on it.
